ACE does not object to an employee having outside part-time employment. Such employment, however, must not interfere with your ability to properly perform all your job duties at ACE, including reporting to work on time and working overtime as needed.
It is understood that many faculty members engage in other full or part-time employment as practitioners and faculty. ACE recognizes that additional professional experiences benefit faculty in remaining current in their fields.
If you are a full-time administrator or staff member, you are required to immediately submit a written request to your supervisor if you decide to take a second job. Your supervisor will determine whether the new job will interfere, conflict, or pose a conflict of interest with your job at ACE.
There are some jobs you cannot hold while employed with ACE. You cannot accept outside or side jobs, either for pay or as a volunteer, with ACE’s competitors, suppliers, or vendors as that work competes with both ACE’s image and the services ACE provides to our students.
Failure to follow this policy can result in corrective action up to and including termination.
