Employees are expected to use their time before or after scheduled work hours to vote in all elections on the national, state, and/or local level. If you cannot vote before or after your scheduled hours, you will be allowed a reasonable period of unpaid time off to vote.
You should request time off to vote from your immediate supervisor at least forty-eight (48) hours prior to the election so that he/she can make the necessary staffing arrangements.
While we encourage employees to be informed voters and involve themselves in the political process, that participation is entirely voluntary and must be made on personal time. ACE does not allow the distribution of political literature or the solicitation of political contributions, in any form, on its premise or the premise of its customers by or through our employees.
If you are called for jury duty you will need to advise your supervisor/manager of the need for time off immediately upon receipt of the subpoena or notice and provide proof of such notice. Full-time employees receive jury duty pay up to a maximum eight (8) hours for each regularly scheduled workday, not to exceed 10 days per calendar year. Part-time employees are not eligible for jury duty pay. Official jury duty certification may be requested by management.
On any day or half-day you are not required to serve, you will need to return to work and give your supervisor a certificate of jury service.
If you are subpoenaed to appear in court as a witness for ACE, we will pay you for the entire period you serve. You will be granted unpaid time off to appear in court as a witness when requested by a party other than ACE. You are free to use any available PTO to receive compensation for the period of the absence.
Your subpoena should be shown to your immediate supervisor after it is received, so that they may make arrangements to accommodate your absence. You will be expected to report to work whenever the court schedule permits.
ACE will comply with all state and local laws. If you have questions, please contact your human resources team.
