As a certified B Corporation, ACE strives to implement sustainability practices. This vendor selection policy will provide guidance and framework for selecting vendors who share similar business values as ACE. It also provides a public commitment to do business with organizations led by underrepresented groups, women, or veterans.
Any employee participating in the vendor selection process.
Sustainability: according to the United Nations, sustainability encompasses meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. Taking environmental concerns into consideration along with economic development.
Locally owned: any business whose primary operation is based out of Indianapolis, Indiana or Dallas, Texas or up to a 150-mile radius of either location.
When selecting new vendors for the college to partner with, consider more than their services as part of the decision-making process. Consider ACE’s alignment with their mission and vision, their ownership, where they are located, their sustainability policies and practices, their working conditions for their employees, and their environmental impact. The college acknowledges that there might be a slightly higher price to pay for sustainable and environmentally friendly services. If the more sustainable service is > 10% higher than the less sustainable alternative, please contact the CFO for approval before proceeding.
American College of Education strives to collaborate with vendors who prioritize diversity and utilizes sustainable practices to create a supply chain that integrates social, ethical, and environmental factors. For new vendor selection, the Diverse and Sustainable Supplier Evaluation Form needs to be completed and submitted by the department leader making the vendor selection decision. The form is routed to Accounts Payable to help track our sustainable vendor efforts.
