Teacher Leadership Certificate

Certificate Description

Developed to enhance professional skills, the certificate in teacher leadership provides an opportunity for teachers to develop skills in supporting senior level leadership by interpreting research, utilizing learning theory, best practices in assessment and motivation and using evidence-based instructional strategies to engage professional development in others. Course curriculum addresses diverse perspectives, personal and professional goal setting, reflective inquiry and critical thinking.

Certificate Outcomes

  1. Apply leadership models and frameworks to promote shared governance, capacity building, and collaboration to influence teaching and learning to impact student success. 
  2. Model high performance in teaching by demonstrating expert abilities in curriculum design, instructional strategies, assessment and intervention, reflective and lifelong learning, decision making skills and intellectual processes. 
  3. Promote and influence school transformation to achieve goals, improve learning and achievement through collaborative engagement by developing teachers using mentoring, coaching and guidance.
