New Faculty On-Boarding Process
Shortly after a position has been accepted, the new ACE faculty member will be contacted to start the on-boarding process. The on-boarding process consists of the following: faculty profile and paperwork completion, Canvas training, best practices and faculty expectations training, FERPA and NIH training, harassment training, and accreditation and assessment training. Once completed faculty members will be cleared to teach at ACE. In addition, you will be given the opportunity to shadow a course either while teaching your first course or prior to teaching your first course at ACE. The graphic below depicts the on-boarding process for new faculty at ACE.
New Faculty On-Boarding Expectations
To ensure that all new ACE faculty members are prepared for their first course at ACE, ACE requires for all on-boarding activities to be completed prior to course assignment. New faculty members will work with the ACE training department and will be “cleared” to teach once all required activities have been completed. If for some reason a new ACE faculty member cannot complete the training by the required deadline, they will not be able to teach at ACE and their position will be terminated. If there are any extenuating circumstances that would prevent a new ACE faculty member from completing their on-boarding by the deadlines, the faculty member should let their hiring manager and the training department know.
