Program Description

The Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration provides students with the foundational skills and knowledge to pursue leadership roles in health administration within a variety of healthcare settings. Through application-based coursework, students learn how to analyze complex health data to promote evidence-based decision-making. The curriculum emphasizes the role of globalization, diversity, community health, interdisciplinary collaboration, and resource allocation in creating an effective balance in managing healthcare costs, quality, and access. After completing the program, students will have the training to evaluate research, advocate for health policies, and analyze legal and ethical principles to improve health outcomes.

Program Outcomes

  1. Evaluate the impact of globalization, diversity, and community health on healthcare policy, delivery, and outcomes.  
  2. Analyze legal and ethical challenges in healthcare, including resource allocation, regulatory compliance, and personal, professional, and social responsibility.
  3. Assess the influence of social determinants of health and the causes and potential solutions to address health inequities.  
  4. Leverage analytical skills and healthcare information technologies to interpret complex health data and promote evidence-based decision-making.  
  5. Apply foundational business principles, theories, and practices to healthcare settings to optimize organizational performance.
  6. Articulate the significance of the leader’s role in supporting healthcare initiatives, developing a culture of quality and safety, and leading organizational change.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration is to provide students with an affordable, application-based program that will provide them with the knowledge and skills they need to be leading healthcare administrators in healthcare organizations.

Course List (36 Total Semester Credits plus *84 credits completed outside of course list)


Note


Students are required to complete eighty-four (84) semester credits in addition to the credits listed in ACE course list for satisfactory completion of the program. Inclusive of the eighty-four (84) semester credits, a required thirty (30) semester credits of general education must align with the Indiana College Core as defined in the College’s General Education Requirements policy . These credits can be acquired prior to program enrollment or while enrolled in the program.
