Program Description

The Master of Education in Instructional Coaching and Teacher Leadership is a dynamic program designed to empower educators with advanced skills in coaching, mentoring, and leadership within educational settings. This innovative curriculum combines theory, research, and practical application to cultivate instructional leaders who can positively impact student learning outcomes and foster a culture of continuous improvement. The program curriculum will address principles of adult learning theory, data-driven decision-making, and transformative leadership. Students will develop expertise in using evidence-based coaching techniques to support teachers in enhancing their instructional practices, implementing new pedagogical approaches, and integrating technology effectively into the classroom. 

Program Outcomes

  1. Demonstrate proficiency in designing, implementing, and evaluating evidence-based instructional strategies to enhance student learning outcomes.
  2. Foster a positive and collaborative school culture by establishing communication channels with colleagues, parents, and community members. 
  3. Apply theories, frameworks, and models to cultivate organizational effectiveness and empower stakeholders. 
  4. Promote learning environments that meet the needs of all student populations.
  5. Leverage educational data and utilize digital tools to inform decision-making and continuous improvements in teaching and learning practices. 
  6. Advocate for the development of teacher leadership, adult learning, and the teaching profession through a commitment to lifelong learning. 

Mission Statement

The M.Ed. in Instructional Coaching and Teacher Leadership program prepares committed, competent and ethical teacher leaders to contribute to and transform the professional education community. Through systematic problem solving and data-driven decision making, students create highly effective learning environments and become positive, reflective, and responsive models as teacher leaders.
