Master’s Level Certificate
Certificate Description
This graduate certificate is designed to provide students with an in-depth investigation of leadership and resource and quality management in healthcare organizations. Students will learn about the impact of leadership and resource allocation on operations and outcomes in healthcare organizations. This certificate will incorporate Lean Healthcare.
Certificate Outcomes
- Apply advanced leadership and management skills to strategic planning, organizational development, operations, and outcomes within healthcare organizations.
- Communicate across the spectrum of healthcare organizations, engaging fluently with different departments, stakeholders, and diverse personnel.
- Utilize personal and professional ethics in decision making within healthcare organizations.
- Apply principles of healthcare economics and financial analysis in strategically assessing and developing programs and operations within healthcare organizations.
- Evaluate evidenced based healthcare research, and apply results to improve decision making, operations, and outcomes within healthcare organizations.
- Promote cultural competency and diversity within healthcare organizations.
Mission Statement
The mission of the Healthcare Quality and Financial Management Certificate is to provide students with an in-depth investigation of leadership and resource and quality management in healthcare organizations to promote career enhancement in leadership and management roles within health organizations.

Course List (18 Semester Credits)
Micro-Credential: Healthcare Financial Management
If students do not wish to earn the full certificate, they may choose to complete the Healthcare Financial Management micro-credential. The financial resource management micro-credential incorporates principles in financial resource management, marketing, and human resources management and investigates their impact on healthcare organizations and health outcomes.
Micro-Credential: Healthcare Quality Management
If students do not wish to earn the full certificate, they may choose to complete the Healthcare Quality Management micro-credential. The healthcare quality micro-credential is designed to facilitate advanced competencies in healthcare quality improvement and leadership in the healthcare field. This program equips learners with the practical knowledge and skills necessary to affect health care quality within healthcare organizations. This micro-credential incorporates Lean Healthcare.
Lean Healthcare Certificate of Knowledge
Completion of Micro-Credential: Healthcare Quality Management courses will result in eligibility to take the LSSI Lean Healthcare exam to receive a Lean Healthcare Certificate of Knowledge.
