Description

Courses in this sequence are recognized by the Florida Department of Education as meeting the coursework requirements to qualify for principal licensure. This track is designed for Florida educators who hold a master’s degree and are interested in seeking principal certification within the state of Florida.

Based on an evaluation of existing master’s degree transcripts or the “Statement of Status Eligibility Letter” from the Florida Department of Education, the required courses, selected from the Course List, will be scheduled to ensure Florida standards are met to add Educational Leadership (All Levels) to the Professional Certificate.

Graduates of this program are required to take and pass the FELE examination and provide scores to ACE to be endorsed as a completer and eligible for Florida Principal Certification.

Internship Requirements for State Licensure

*Completion of the 10-week internship course is an ACE requirement for all students seeking eligibility for licensure.

The Educational Leadership internship experience is designed to allow students the opportunity to engage in a variety of field experiences to enrich their professional growth, skills, knowledge, and attributes as school leaders. Students will apply academic learning to practice in the field and display competency through a series of projects. Details and requirements related to the experiences may be found in the Internship Toolbox in Student Commons. Students will receive a failing grade if the requirements of the internship are not completed by the end of the course. Those students will be re-enrolled in the internship course and will be required to pay all associated tuition and fees. The Educational Leadership program’s internship requirement is a minimum of 120 clock hours.

Note

This program has been approved as meeting the principal licensure requirements in the state of Florida.
