Master’s Level Certificate
Certificate Description
The Certificate in Nursing Education and Simulation will prepare the nurse to model leadership in the role of nurse educator while executing quality improvement and change in on-ground and online academic settings, as well as in clinical education practice settings. The nurse educator will be prepared to design, implement, and evaluate teaching strategies appropriate to the learner, setting, and achievement of desired outcomes. The program will advance competencies in the use of technology, including simulation, to foster optimal learner outcomes.
Certificate Outcomes
- Synthesize knowledge and concepts from nursing and related disciplines as a foundation for advanced nurse educator roles.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate evidenced based teaching strategies appropriate to the learner, setting, and achievement of desired outcomes.
- Employ evidence-based curriculum, assessment, and evaluation strategies appropriate for diverse learners across a variety of settings.
- Integrate the use of technology, information systems, and simulation to support optimal learner outcomes and quality improvement in educational systems.
- Adapt and expand lifelong learning skills into broad areas of practice expertise across interdisciplinary healthcare settings, organizational systems, policy, and advocacy.
- Integrate patient-centered and culturally responsive concepts into the design and delivery of evidence-based clinical prevention and population care in healthcare services regionally, nationally, and globally.
