Program Description

The Bachelor of Arts in Education Studies is a transfer-friendly degree completion program focused on education. The program is designed for individuals who wish to work in the P-12 setting and is non-licensure. Graduates may seek licensure through an alternative pathway program of their choice upon completion. 

Program Outcomes

  1. Examine trends and historical foundations in the education field.
  2. Apply theories of child development to education settings.
  3. Select appropriate literature to support learning for specific age groups and individual needs.
  4. Explore strategies to manage learning environments to ensure a safe and supportive educational setting.
  5. Examine trends and best practices to support a variety of diverse learners and individual needs.
  6. Research strategies and methods used in modern educational settings to guide curriculum, instruction and use of technology.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Bachelor of Arts in Education Studies program is to provide students with the opportunity to complete a bachelor’s degree utilizing previously earned credits and coursework focused on education. 

Note


Students are required to complete ninety (90) semester credits in addition to the credits listed in ACE course list for satisfactory completion of the program. Inclusive of the ninety (90) semester credits, a required thirty (30) semester credits of general education must align with the Indiana College Core as defined in the College’s General Education Requirements policy. These credits can be acquired prior to program enrollment or while enrolled in the program.
