Program Description

This program focuses on applying evidence-based learning and assessment strategies used in technology-integrated instruction. Learners apply theories and principles to enhance critical and creative thinking, innovation, and problem-solving within diverse settings (i.e., government, corporate, K-12, higher education, community, non-profit, healthcare, military). Through the use of technology, students demonstrate the capacity to develop criteria, design and create online courses and projects, and evaluate final products.

Program Outcomes

  1. Apply evidence-based, technology-integrated learning and assessment strategies to diverse settings.
  2. Employ theoretical frameworks and principles of instructional design for technology applications.
  3. Implement critical and creative thinking, innovation, and problem-solving skills.
  4. Create interactive and engaging content based on instructional design theories and principles to meet the needs of diverse learners.
  5. Evaluate policies and procedures that follow established ethical guidelines to develop and deliver technology-integrated instruction.
  6. Research the contributions of individuals who influence the instructional design field and develop skills to plan action research in organizations.
  7. Demonstrate the capacity to develop criteria, design and create online courses and projects, and evaluate final products.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Industrial Design and Technology program is to provide practitioners with the skills to develop, implement, and evaluate effective instruction through technology.
