Certificate Description
The Nursing Leadership and Management Certificate will prepare the nurse leader to model organizational and systems leadership skills that asserts ethical and critical decision making, collaborative inter-professional relationships, responsible fiscal stewardship, and principles of quality improvement. The program will foster competencies in leadership and the use of technology and information systems to support quality improvement and outcomes.
Certificate Outcomes
- Demonstrate the elements of human caring and legal and ethical principles into the role of the nurse executive.
- Integrate theory, evidence, and inter-professional perspectives to improve nursing practice, and outcomes within systems.
- Contribute to efficient management of financial and human resources in the development, delivery, and the evaluation of patient-centered care.
- Apply quality improvement methods, tools, and performance measures to guide patient centered care and inform organizational decision making.
- Apply effective communication techniques including use of technology in the role of the nurse leader.
