BUS6513 - Innovation Theory and Organizational Practice

Credits: 3
Leaders drive and sustain innovation within complex, dynamic organizations. This course interrogates interdisciplinary theories from organizational behavior, systems thinking, and strategic leadership, examining how existing frameworks explain (and fail to explain) the way innovation emerges, scales, and stalls in real organizational systems. Through case study of real innovation efforts, students will examine persistent barriers such as organizational silos, risk aversion, and resistance to change. They will evaluate the ethical, sustainability, and societal dimensions of innovation decisions and translate findings into both strategic action and contributions to the broader practice of innovation leadership.
