SPED6073 - Exploring the Autism Spectrum

This course addresses the unique characteristics of students on the autism spectrum and explores the history of research and practices in this field. Participants investigate current trends, issues, and research-based strategies for teaching, managing, and promoting social skills, and proactive social interactions in autistic individuals. Various aspects of communicative behavior and the needs of learners on the autism spectrum are discussed. Participants propose evidence-based strategies for creating an inclusive classroom environment that meets the specific needs of these students.
