Relocation

Policy Statement

Part of what makes ACE a great place to work is the flexibility to work remotely.  ACE currently has employees in more than 35 states. However, to maintain affordability for our students, we are limited from expanding within or having new employees in several states due to local laws and policies.

This ACE Relocation Policy provides specificity regarding the states to which ACE will not allow future hiring and/or relocation.

Eligibility

All part-time and full-time employees regardless of length of service.

Guidelines

Employees who are planning to move or relocate to a different state from which they currently reside or were hired in must first refer to this policy to ensure their new state is permissible.  ACE is not allowed to hire in or allow relocation to the following states or areas:

  • Alaska
  • Washington DC
  • Hawaii
  • Massachusetts
  • New Mexico
  • South Dakota
  • Alabama

All other states are permissible.  This list will be reviewed and updated by the CFO at least annually.  Please note, as of 01/01/2021 we may already have employees residing in the states listed above.  Those employees are being grandfathered into their location.

Process

In the event an employee cannot avoid a relocation to the above-mentioned states, the employee is required to submit in writing the relocation plan, as well as supporting documentation that it cannot be avoided, to Human Resources.  ACE will review and make every effort to accommodate; however, retention of employees relocating to these states is not guaranteed and should not be expected.  If not approved by Human Resources, relocation to one of these states will be considered a resignation.
