Working with Relatives

The employment, transfer, or promotion of relatives of employees into situations that might result or appear to result in unfair preferential treatment or business decisions that might be disadvantageous for ACE is prohibited.

  • ACE prohibits the employment of an individual in a particular position if this action would: Place the individual in a position of supervising or being supervised by any member of the individual’s family; or
  • Place the individual in a position of supervising or being supervised by another employee who is not a relative, but where a conflict of interest could exist (e.g., roommate, co-habitant).

For purposes of this policy, relatives generally include your spouse, children, siblings, parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, stepchildren or in-laws. This policy also applies to roommates.
